Mckenzie Jones Communications Associate

Mckenzie Jones is a Communications Assistant at NP Strategy Group, a public affairs agency specializing in rapid response techniques for issue advocacy, legislative, grassroots, and reputation management campaigns.

Prior to joining NP, she worked as a Business and Technology Analyst for Accenture Federal Services. At AFS, she worked with digital designers and web developers to document technical requirements for a system which disburses over $2 billion dollars of federal aid to 4,000 colleges, universities, and higher education institutions. Mckenzie authored several Requirements Definition and General Design documents which served as guidelines for the redesign of over 200 websites and back end processes.

She also served as a Campaign Strategy Intern for Fletcher Rowley Inc., an advertising agency and public relations firm for corporate, political, and crisis management campaigns. During her time there, Mckenzie conducted extensive research on state and local elections and interest group activity, wrote numerous scripts for radio and television ads, and managed clients’ social media campaigns through content creation and follower engagement.

Mckenzie also gained experience as a Science and Technology Policy Intern at Vanderbilt’s Office of Federal Relations in Washington, D.C., which advocates on behalf of the higher education community. Mckenzie researched legislation on higher education, international students, and STEM research funding. She also led policy presentations for congressional staffers on the HELP committee, and social media campaigns aimed at elevating the university’s research and policy objectives.

Mckenzie graduated Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a focus on American Government and Politics, and a minor in Corporate Strategy. At Vanderbilt, she was a member of the political science honor society, Vanderbilt’s Multi-Partisan Student Coalition, and Students Consulting for Nonprofits.
